Forum on Fatherlessness - Session 2: Why Ministry to the Fatherless
Session 2 was presented by Rachel Miller, Director of Forbid Them Not Ministries. (Note: This session was changed at the last minute due to overlap. It primarily shares the purpose and focus of Forbid Them Not.)
About Rachel Miller: Miss Rachel Miller trusted the Lord as Savior at the age of 5. While on deputation with her parents, God burdened her heart for orphans at the age of 12. Shortly after high school, God opened up an amazing opportunity, and she spent 10 years serving in various capacities at an orphanage in Moscow, Russia. There she worked directly with orphans and guardians, assisted and trained caregivers and teachers, and was part of the material development team, preparing materials for family and church leaders’ seminars, which were held in five countries in the region. After returning to the States, she attended Mountain States Baptist College in Great Falls, MT where she earned a degree in Biblical Studies with special emphasis on languages and the relationship of the church to the fatherless. Since that time, she has worked with missionaries and their orphan ministries in various countries. She has overseen the day-to-day operations and development of Forbid Them Not since its inception in 2008. She is a happy auntie to ten nieces and nephews and the author of four books.
